The Noon-Day Series

Three Advent noon-day recitals are scheduled on Wednesdays, December 5, 12, and 19 in Arborlawn’s sanctuary featuring Arborlawn talent and guest artists. Lenten recitals are scheduled on March 6, 13, and 20. These recitals are held at 12 noon followed by a light lunch in  Arborlawn’s Family Life Center.

NOONDAY ADVENT RECITALS

These three Noonday Advent Recitals are scheduled beginning at 12:00 noon with a light lunch served to follow benefiting our youth ensemble, Cantabile.  These recitals feature local Arborlawn talent and guest artists, as well.  We hope that you will make every opportunity to be present for these inspirational recitals.

Wednesday, December 5, 2012 - Jerry Westenkuehler, Organist

Arborlawn organist Jerry Westenkuehler will open the 2012 Advent Recital Series with an organ recital of Advent and Christmas music that is sure to delight the listener.

Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - Arborlawn Vocal Talent

Arborlawn talent will provide music for the second Advent recital.  This recital will include music presented by Christa Zimmer, alto; Barron Rice, tenor; Jenna Rice, soprano; David Thompson, tenor; and Alan Davis, tenor.  This recital should be a meaningful addition to our Advent season.

Wednesday, December 19, 2012 - Kristine Harris, Trumpet

Kristine Harris, trumpet, joins with Jerry Westenkuehler in an Advent recital to close the series.  Harris, formerly head of the music departments at the College of the Ozarks and Brewer Parker College, has performed often with Westenkuehler.  We look forward to this recital!

Wednesday, March 6, 2013 - Jeffrey J. Ford, Organist

Jeffrey J. Ford is a graduate of Asbury College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and served as organist at Westcliff United Methodist Church from 1988-1991. He has also served as organist at Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler, Texas. Ford currently serves as Organist/Choir Master at Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler where he is responsible for leading and accompanying the Chancel and Canterbury Choirs, as well as the administration of the church music department. Jeffrey also serves as Artistic Director of the Choir School of East Texas and as Adjunct Professor of Music at Tyler Junior College.

Wednesday, March 13, 2013 - Arborlawn Vocal Talent

Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - Karen Gossett and Tom Stoker, Duo Pianists

Karen Gossett, Arborlawn's Worship Arts Administrator, teams with Minister of Worship Arts Tom Stoker in a duo piano recital featuring contemplative music of the Lenten season.
